About the BID
All business premises within the BID boundary voted on the Beddington BID Business Plan and 98% voted ‘YES’. This means that we achieved BID status and all business rate payers contribute through the BID Levy which is calculated at at 1% of a business premises rateable value capped at a maximum of £6,000 per property per annum for 5 years. The upper cap only affects a few of the largest businesses.
If you are within the BID boundary as a business you are liable for the levy but will also be part of the community that receives the benefit of being a member of the BID.
The BID gives local businesses a greater ownership of their area. The BID gives you, as a business, greater control to improve the area in ways that can benefit your business, your customers and your employees. Many businesses experience the same issues but we have to deal with them individually, the BID is addressing your concerns and ideas.
